Fundamentals for Supervisors (FFS) is a three-day program that provides essential skills required by aspiring supervisors or those new to supervising the work of others, leading project teams, or who have not received prior supervisory training. The goal of the FFS is to increase an individual’s performance as a supervisor and to provide practical tools to enhance staff performance.
The program addresses the unique challenges of a public service setting and is open to local, state, and federal employees, as well as non-profit and private businesses. Learning occurs in a safe and encouraging environment in which the facilitators encourage active involvement by participants.

The FFS provides new supervisors with the opportunity to:
- Assess current supervisory skills and develop action plans for improvement.
