Selection Criteria
The Minority Political Leadership Institute is a program suited for current and emerging leaders interested in issues affecting minority and underserved communities. Prior political experience is not required for consideration.
Application Requirements
The next class of the Minority Political Leadership Institute will be held in 2024 and starts on September 6th.
Those selected to participate in the Minority Political Leadership Institute are expected to participate fully in all the sessions offered during the months of September through April.
All required documents must be received by the application deadline for your application to be complete. Please ensure that your application contains the following:

Program Fee
The program fee for the Minority Political Leadership Institute is $2,150. It covers all program costs, including leadership assessment, single-person lodging, the Annual Legislative conference in DC, and meals on in-person program days. Payments can be made by the sponsoring organization or by individuals. Participants are responsible for securing their own transportation to program sessions.
Certificate
Participants who complete the Minority Political Leadership Institute will receive a certificate of completion and continuing education units from The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute.
